Senior Centers & Clubs, Community Organizations

I offer various Powerpoint presentations on a volunteer basis for these organizations.

I am very passionate about older adults using technology safely - that's why I volunteer my time at the various senior centers to educate folks about using the internet and computers. I also believe in giving back, and that is why I donate much of my time to these worthwhile projects...

The Memory Project

Ancaster Senior Achievement Center

This 11 week Pilot Project is devoted to the brain and memory.
Guard what you have and improve your brain health by learning how motion and emotion, nutrition, exercise, hearing, vision and many other factors can keep dementia at bay.
My contribution is to teach the use of the iPad and an excellent Brain exercise program called Brain HQ.

Cyber Seniors - Bridging the gap

Pairing Students & Seniors to create their own videos and uploading the videos to Youtube.

We then promoted the videos and ran a contest to see who got the most hits!

This pilot project was done with the Burlington Christian Academy & LaSalle Park Retirement Community

 Hamilton Age Friendly City

I recently joined this group of individuals from various city organizations who are working to bring great programming and issues of concerns for older adults to the attention of the City and find resources and grants to fund these needs.  It is this type of creative thinking that brings forth great ideas and I am very excited about the possibilities!

I have been a member of this committee for 2 years and very involved in the Dundas InfoSpot Project.  This is an innovative way to bring information about programs, services & events of interest to those 55 and over in the Dundas area.  We have just created a video to promote InfoSpot and hope to expand the program across the greater community of Hamilton and beyond!
